Meet the Staff

We want to empower you
on your
beauty journey.

The fear of looking fake or like you’ve had “work done” is real! We want to work with similar-minded individuals that are looking to appear a little younger, and more rested in a natural way.

Subtle treatments allow you to appear more rested and youthful without looking like you’ve had work done or without changing who you are.

  • I am a board-certified emergency physician who started Blackbird Aesthetics in collaboration with a local salon owner. My journey into aesthetics has involved extensive research, training, and personal growth. As I entered my 40s and noticed signs of aging, I became intrigued by the minimally invasive procedures that allow inner beauty to shine. Trying these procedures on myself and friends, I’ve been amazed by the results, which have helped me feel more natural and rested without looking fake.

As an emergency physician, I understand the importance of evaluating each patient individually, and this skill translates well into aesthetics. I don't wear much makeup or dress up often, but I found that these treatments made my skin smoother and younger, allowing me to use fewer skincare products. The combination of medicine and art in aesthetics has been a perfect fit for me, and I’m honored to help others feel confident in their natural beauty.

Since opening Blackbird Aesthetics in October 2021, I've been driven by a desire to empower other strong, hardworking women. Living in the NC High Country for almost 13 years, I’m passionate about supporting local, especially women-owned, businesses. It’s exciting to collaborate with and encourage others in our community through the services we offer.

In addition to running my aesthetics practice, I have been serving as an emergency physician at Watauga Medical Center since 2009. My years of experience performing procedures and listening closely to patients’ needs allow me to offer personalized care and truly hear what each client is looking for when they visit Blackbird Aesthetics.

Making people happy and enhancing their beauty is my goal.

  • I’ve been in the medical field for 14 years with most all of my career in Acute/Emergency medicine. I am currently working full-time in the same day access acute clinic at AppFamily. I’m super excited to join Blackbird and start a new part-time adventure in Facial Aesthetics. Making people happy and enhancing their beauty is my goal.

When off work I enjoy hiking, watching football (proud to be a Mountaineer), and traveling. I have been married for 20 years and have one son.

My hope is that I can help refresh, enhance and support my client’s wellness goals.

  • Throughout my career I have worked other areas in parallel to emergency medicine, but my predominant focus in both my nursing and nurse practitioner career has been emergency medicine. My current full-time work as a nurse practitioner is in the emergency department in Boone.

On a personal note, my husband and I agreed when we met that we would move to the mountains. We landed on the Boone area because this suited both our needs and relocated in July 2023.
In my spare time. I spend time with my family and fur babies. I do also love planting and plan to begin working on a garden soon.

Over the years, I have had several different aesthetic procedures to enhance and refresh. I believe these were the stepping stones leading me to this new endeavor. My hope is that I can help refresh, enhance and support my client’s wellness goals.
